It all Begins When a Community Cares...
The South Wood Emerging Pantry Shelf (SWEPS) is dedicated to assisting those in our community who confront daily challenges providing food for themselves and their family. It is targeted to serve the vulnerable populations that live within our area: the poor, the unemployed, the elderly, shut-ins, children, and others whose comparative lack of resources leave them exposed to food insecurity.
Caring and concern is a solid first step. SWEPS takes action to bring nutritious food items to needy households. Through the help of dedicated volunteers and responsive community partners, SWEPS continuously stocks its shelves with healthy and practical food choices.
Open 5 days each week for distribution, SWEPS is an influential and effective outreach providing an essential service to a vulnerable community. There is a constant need for financial support from community organizations as well a individual donors. Please consider a donation, and look at our web page for volunteer opportunities or needed food donations.
